Thai Blessing

A couple of days after their wedding, our son and his new wife knelt before the Monks at our Wat in Las Vegas.  The Monks allowed us to video the blessing and chants to share on our blog site.

You will notice the braided strings that connect the heads of the new couple, this is to connect their individual energies into one.  You will also notice at the end of the ceremony a string is tied to their wrists.  This string leads from the Buddha statues to the Monks so they may share Buddha’s energy.  A little piece of this energetic string  is cut off and tied to the wrist to bring good luck.

After the blessing, the kids offers food to the Monks for their lunch – When the Monks finished eating, we all ate some really delicious Thai food.

Here’s the video!

Thank you for watching! 🙂 The Monks at our Wat are very nice and have always been accommodating. It’s pretty neat to watch the different blessings and goings on out there.

How beautiful that you did the blessing and shared it. And special for me because I am so far away and not able to be with you to share in the joy of this time. I am with you in spirit ! Amber, I do so wish to meet you and get to know you. If you are into it maybe we could Skype one day soon and we could chat for a bit. It would be at least a start. I am going to the doctor in the morning for my 1st visit after my surgery and will be gone all day, but other than that I am here ALL the time.

I love you both and know that yours is a blessed relationship.

Love and angels on your pillows,

    Nana Nicki
